Omar Sy Talks New Film ‘The Call of the Wild’ – WATCH

French actor Omar Sy stars alongside Harrison Ford in the new film “The Call of the Wild.”

In the film, a house dog named Buck is stolen with the intent to be sold as a sled dog in Alaska. While in captivity Buck is beaten and abused but tries to fight his way out. Unsuccessful at freeing himself he was later sold to Perrault, played by Omar Sy, who uses a pack of dogs to pull his mail sled. As the newcomer, Buck has a hard time adjusting to his new life and struggles to keep up with the rest of the pack. Buck begins to see the spirit of the wolf within himself which pushed him to learn to survive in his new environment.

Sometimes even people have to reach for the animal within to push through difficult circumstances. Our correspondent L.Marie sat down with Omar Sy to ask him about which spirit animal he resonates with.

“I think, like buck the spirit animal is the wolf.”

Omar goes on to mention the instinct that wolves have and that is exactly the message Buck’s spirit was trying to relay to him. The spirt wolf shows up to show Buck who he really his and the power and strength he has in himself and how he should follow his gut.

Later on, Buck is sold once again but is saved by Harrison Ford’s character John Thornton. John and Buck have an immediate bond and embark on a journey where they both get in touch with their true selves.

This is a film that everyone can enjoy from the moving story of Buck’s survival to the bits of action and special effects. “The Call of the Wild” is in theaters February 21.
