*Former President Barack Obama will take part in a “fireside chat” with Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks, Kevin Love from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chris Paul of the Oklahoma Thunder during All-Star Weekend in Chicago.

The chat will be attended by a hand-selected group of leaders who participate in the Obama Foundation’s many programs, wgntv.com reports

“President Obama looks forward to talking with Giannis, Kevin, Chris, and Michael about one of the themes that has driven his career and now us here at the Obama Foundation: the importance of people engaging in their community to make a positive impact,” an Obama Foundation spokeswoman said in an email. “It’s exciting to have the spotlight on Chicago this weekend, and we’re excited to help showcase this work in the city we love and where the Obama Presidential Center will come to life.”

Obama, a huge basketball fan, made an unannounced appearance at an NBA Cares event with several of the league’s top rookies, second-year players and coaches, including Zion Williamson and Trae Young.

The event was for volunteers to fill several backpacks with school supplies, USA Today reports.

“There’s really nothing like it,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “He’s a president, he’s a young president who is really beloved by all of America but in particular the NBA family. He’s so in-tune with our game and it was a great honor to meet him.”

“For him to have one of the (busiest) schedules, for him to keep up with all of us, hats off to him,” “I’ve got a lot of respect for him, just knowing us, knowing our stats. He said ‘career-high 32,’ man … crazy,” said Williamson.

Obama’s public visit this weekend in Chicago will be his first since he and his wife appeared at the annual Obama Foundation Summit in October.
