THE REAL: Karamo on the Charges Against His Friend Jussie Smollett

*On Thursday, Feb. 13, the hosts of “The Real” talk to actors Jake Borelli and Karamo stop by to talk about starring in the Valentine’s Day same-sex relationship movie The Thing About Harry and how they feel the LGBTQ community is currently being represented in television and movies. Karamo also voices his opinion about his friend Jussie Smollett’s recent indictment.

The ladies discuss Southwest Airlines’ new in-flight announcement asking passengers to report any distasteful behavior they may experience and co-host Adrienne Houghton reveals how she had to change the name on her AirDrop because of dirty photos she was receiving on her phone from strange men on planes. Then, co-host Loni Love hilariously rats out her co-hosts for drinking a little too much on a flight they were all taking to do a press appearance!

And in honor of The Real’s 1000th episode on Monday, Feb. 17, the ladies take a look back at a clip from Season 3 where they each had breakaway bottles broken over their heads. Ready to be initiated into the “fam”, co-host Amanda Seales graciously offers up her dome for the dare.

Karamo Talks About His Friend Jussie Smollett’s Recent Indictment

Loni Love: We know you’re friends with Jussie Smollett; the other day we were having a great Girl Chat conversation about the new charges that he’s been charged with. What are your thoughts on that?

Karamo: I think there’s a lot of discrepancies, you know. The media has put out a lot of stuff, and I actually when they opened up the case, read it, and I was like, “Things are not adding up here,” and I think, as we know, in our legal system… they like to treat black people, people of color, women, gay people very badly. And so, I’m not quick to jump to judgment, and I still am gonna stand by my friend. I believe that the truth will come out.

Karamo: And I think we all need to do our own due diligence and read and pay more attention. Because if you just listen to these sound bites, you’ll gather opinions about stuff that’s not true.

Loni: Thank you for that.

Adrienne Houghton: So great, that is so great.

Loni: Good friend!
