Cee Lo, Joseline Have Something to Say About Their Time in ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition’

*”Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Edition” premiered February 6, on WEtv, with a whole new cast and their relationship issues.

Included in this season are long-time Atlanta resident Cee Lo Green (“Crazy,” “Forget You”) and former “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star Joseline Hernandez.

The other cast members rounding out this group are R&B singer, Miche’le Toussaint (“No More Lies”), rapper Styles P (“Good Times”) and rapper Bianca Bonnie (“Chicken Noodle Soup”) and their respective partners.

Now, despite the title, not all of these couples are married, some have significant time with their partners, Cee Lo and his partner Shani, have been engaged since 2015, but Michel’le and her new boo, Stew; who is relatively younger than her, are a fairly new couple.

Styles P and his wife Adjua have been married for 24 years, but are dealing with a variety of issues, including his infidelity and the loss of their daughter.

We got a chance to speak to some of these couples at the premiere event in Los Angeles and to say the least, spending 10 days in a LA mansion sequestered together, was no small feat. Dr. Ish, a psychiatrist and relationship expert is the moderator in the house and he told us, when asked, “Who had the biggest issues this season?” He said:

“Joseline and Balistic had some huge things go down that we didn’t see coming. Bianca and Chozus have a little secret that didn’t go over well, Cee Lo and Shani are coming in on two totally different wavelengths and Michel’le has been through some stuff with all of her exes that just told her that love is supposed to hurt and Stew is trying to teach her something different and it’s a hard lesson to learn.”

Also, helping this group sort out their emotional issues and confront their relationship drama during their 10 day stay in the Los Angeles mansion is Judge Lynn Toler. She told us the leading issue in relationships today is social media. She said:

“It’s too easy to find daily comfort in the keyboard of somebody else’s situation when your own situation at home ain’t cool.”

When speaking about the couples in the house, Judge Toler has also said:

“I’d be watching the screens, go to the bathroom, come back and say, ‘What the hell just happened?  You have people with some serious issues. Anger between couples seeps out. There’s anger between couples. People get upset.”

When we spoke to Joseline Hernandez and asked her what the biggest lesson she took away from the house, she said:

“It helped them become closer, talk and learn each other.’  Balistic Beats, her partner, said; ‘It helped with communication.”

Communication and anger issues seem to be a common thread between all of the couples and packed all together in one house brought out the fireworks.  Bianca said that she and Chozus ‘went in the house hoping that they were going to make things better and it actually got worse.’

You’ll have to tune into Wetv Thursdays at 7pm PST to see who makes it out of the house stronger, which couples actually deal with their issues and to watch the drama unfold because it’s not just going to unfold, it’s about to be lit up in there!
