Look At GOD! Woman Wins Impossible Game on ‘Ellen’ (Even Though She Would’ve Gotten the $25K Anyway)

*Well this is a first.

You know how Ellen picks a random person from the audience to play a game for a bunch of cash? And then the random person finds out that they were deliberately picked because of their inspirational story? They are going through hard times, and find out that their loved one had written DeGeneres asking for help.

Usually, after the person’s tear-jerker backstory is revealed, Ellen makes the person play a super hard game for laughs, with everyone in on the fun of knowing that the person is getting the much-needed prize money, win or lose. Well, on Thursday’s show, the “random” player got the money AND the last laugh – because she ended up winning the impossible-to-win game.

Ellen surprised Sophie Santana, who thought she was randomly chosen to play the hardest game in daytime TV, “Holey Roller.” She had no idea that her best friend Jalincia wrote to Ellen to tell Sophie’s story, and not only was Jalincia there to cheer Sophie on, so was Sophie’s daughter Liani.

“Holey Roller” has players trying to bowl a tiny ball into a small hole in a wall hella far away. It looks impossible. It is impossible. But it wasn’t for Sophie Santana.

Oh, and Hillary Clinton was on today’s  show, too, to promote her new Hulu docuseries, “Hillary,” premiering in March.
