Evangelist Franklin Graham Slams Super Bowl Halftime Show for Promoting ‘Sexual Exploitation of Women’

*The Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years on Sunday. Fans across social media are still celebrating their 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, but some folks can’t get over how “sexualized” the halftime show was featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira

Evangelist Franklin Graham took to his Facebook page late Sunday evening to criticize their performance.

Shakira kicked off the halftime show with a medley of her hits. She was joined by Bad Bunny for a cover of Cardi B’s “I Like It.”

Lopez followed with a medley of her classic tracks, starting with “Jenny From The Block,” and J Balvin joined her for a rendition of “Mi Gente.”

While fans praised the women for serving up a stunning show, Graham added his voice to the chorus of critics who said the performance was too “sexualized,” wcnc.com reports

Graham said the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show “was showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay.”

“I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children. We see that disappearing before our eyes,” he said about the halftime show.

Graham went on to say, “with the exploitation of women on the rise worldwide, instead of lowering the standard, we as a society should be raising it. I’m disappointed in Pepsi and the NFL.”
