This High School in Kentucky has ‘Karaoke Fridays’ During Lunch

*Gen X had “Fame,” and apparently Gen Z high schoolers now have Karaoke Fridays during lunch hour. On Monday, high school student Autumn Brea of, Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, Ky., posted video to TikTok of a girl attempting Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” and a boy busting out New Edition’s “If It Isn’t Love” – choreography and all.

The short clip has gone viral.

In an interview with In The Know, Brea confirmed that her school regularly hosts karaoke sessions on Fridays, as long as the students clean up after themselves.

“If people are really bad at singing, the cafeteria usually actually cheers on that person instead of blatantly making fun of them, and based off of who is performing and what song is being sung, people react differently,” she said.
