Rapper YG Arrested, Booked for Robbery After Deputies Serve Search Warrant – WATCH

*Rapper YG found himself being arrested Friday morning by LA County Sheriff’s deputies who served him with a search warrant in connection with a robbery investigation.

YG, 29, whose government name is Keenon Jackson, was taken into custody in the Chatsworth section of Los Angeles in the San  Fernando Valley and transported to the Men’s Central Jail. He was booked for robbery, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

However, whatever the details of the alleged crime are, details were not immediately disclosed.

As of this posting, YG/Keenon Jackson is being held on $250,000 bail. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday which means he’ll most likely miss the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

In a statement released earlier this week, the Recording Academy said YG was among the artists scheduled to participate in a tribute to Nipsey Hussle at the Grammy Awards show on Sunday.

It’ worth noting that last year, in July, sheriff’s homicide detectives served a search warrant at Jackson’s Hollywood Hills home. One of his vehicles had been involved in a July 3 chase and shootout involving deputies and a gunman that resulted in the death of an innocent bystander.

Jackson, a Compton native, was not home at the time of that raid and was never accused in that case, reports ABC7.

“I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day,” he tweeted at the time. “I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!”
