THE REAL: Women Need to Stop Tearing Each Other Down and Finesse Mitchell is in the House! – WATCH

*On Wednesday, Jan. 22, the hosts of “The Real” talk about an interview with Hillary Clinton where she says that staying in her marriage was the gutsiest thing she’s ever done, and the ladies debate if they would judge a woman for staying with a man who cheated.

Courteney Cox liked a lot of posts about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s moment at the SAG Awards recently – does she know something we don’t?

And the ladies also discuss their feelings that women need to stop tearing each other down.

Later, actor and comedian Finesse Mitchell stops by to talk about his new show, Outmatched and his recent return to Saturday Night Live where he finally got a picture with Eddie Murphy! He also helps the audience make sense of their men during “Manslation.”

Women Need to Stop Tearing Each Other Down

Amanda Seales: I feel like women have been put in these like, competitive spaces for so long, we’re competing from attention from men, we’re competing from attention for each other, etc…

Adrienne Houghton: Jobs…

Amanda: And it’s just, it’s so toxic and the only way it changes is we have to consciously decide not to continue that practice…

[The Real audience applauds]

Amanda: And… I mean listen, if I’m keeping it above, I look in the comments in @TheRealDaytime, I’m like “Yo, why…” Like, I’m a woman who’s really just trying to be honest, be in my integrity, do what I want, like do my thing and help others, and yet people feel comfortable just like spewing so much nasty…

Adrienne: And who would you say it is?

Amanda: Women, doing it, yeah!

Jeannie Mai: Yes, women.

Amanda: Women saying it to me, and I’m like, but why, I’m not even trying to do nothing to you. But I think that a lot of times it really just us taking a moment to say like, “You know what? If I don’t have nothing nice to say, nothing helpful, nothing constructive, why am I putting this negativity out into the world?”

[The Real audience applauds]

Tamera Mowry-Housley: And –

Amanda: And – can I just say one last thing?

Tamera: Absolutely!

Amanda: And please expect that if you put that out it’s unfair to not expect someone to come back. Like that’s the other flip. If you’re putting out that energy, don’t expect people to be like, “Thank you. I appreciate your nastiness. Namaste.”
