THE REAL: Loni And Amanda’s Specific Dating Rules and Actress Ta’Shonda Jones Stops by!

*On Friday, Jan. 17, the hosts of “The Real” discuss when the proper time is to define a relationship. Co-hosts Loni Love and Amanda Seales share their specific rules when it comes to dating!

Then the hosts reveal who among them is the worst phone charger thief, but for co-host Jeannie Mai, it’s time to talk about something else she lent to co-host Adrienne Houghton – and she wants it back!

And actress Ta’Rhonda Jones visits to chat about her role in Stolen by My Mother:  The Kamiyah Mobley Story. She tells the ladies how she manifested working with co-star Niecy Nash and how preparing for the role of Shanara Mobley was therapeutic for her.

Ta’Rhonda Jones On How Preparing For The Role Of Shanara Mobley Was Therapeutic For Her

Loni Love: How did you prepare for it?

Ta’Rhonda Jones: I had to disconnect from the world. I had to like, cut off all social media, and not only that, I used my past trauma for this role. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with my story of my cousin, who I call my brother, who was murdered in 2014 of April, and I used all of that pain towards this role. And it was very therapeutic for me, surprisingly. I didn’t know how much this role helped me. As a black woman, we’re not allowed to show any weakness or anything – at least that’s what we’re told – and for the first time, I was like, “Yo, I’m allowed to do that; I’m allowed to feel this?” And it felt good. It felt so good.

Amanda Seales: Catharsis.

Ta’Rhonda: Yeah. It felt so good.

[The Real audience applauds]

Ta’Rhonda: It was therapeutic for me.
