First Look at Chris Rock in ‘Fargo’ Season 4 Trailer [WATCH]

*More than two years after season 3 aired, “Fargo” is finally returning for its fourth installment, starring Chris Rock.

According to Variety, the story is described as “immigration and assimilation and the things we do for money.”

The series is set in 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri, and Rock portrays Loy Cannon, a crime boss who finds himself in a power struggle after two criminal syndicates — one Italian, one Black — strike peace.

“To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons. Rock will play the head of one of the syndicates, who has surrendered his son to his enemy, and who must raise his son’s enemy as his own. But then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies — and everything changes,” the outlet writes.

“Italians, they’re the past. We’re the future,” Rock’s Cannon says in the clip above. “They just don’t know it yet.”

The first season of “Fargo” was set in 2006 and won three Emmy Awards, including best miniseries. Season two, set in 1979, landed six Emmy noms.

Series creator Noah Hawley said during the FX TCA panel this week that he didn’t set out to make a period piece with season 4, GoldDerby reports.

“I don’t really consider 1979 a period piece because I was alive in 1979,” Hawley said, “but 1950 … I had the sense that if i made something set in the ’50s, I had to make something that felt like the ’50s, but I also wanted to try to make something that felt modern. So that was exciting — to realize, no, I can do modern stories set in a period.”

“Fargo” season 4 also stars Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, Jessie Buckley, Timothy Olyphant, Glynn Turman, and Uzo Aduba.

“Fargo” returns to FX April 19 with two back-to-back episodes.
