*RuPaul‘s new syndicated daytime talk show is coming to an end before having a chance to take off.
The star’s self-titled program premiered over the summer and ran for a three-week trail. Guests included Sen. Cory Booker, Blac Chyna, Ciara and many more. However, viewers just weren’t feeling it, so the show has been canceled.
“Now more than ever before we need a global voice that will help everyday people navigate this unique time in history,” RuPaul said in a statement back in April when his show was announced. “Not only do I want to be a part of that conversation, I want to help facilitate it.”
“Part of the appeal of doing limited series is the freedom it allows to try something really different. That’s this show,” Frank Cicha, executive vice president of programming for Fox Television Stations, told Variety last April.

RuPaul premiered June 10 on select Fox stations, including WNYW FOX 5 in New York City and KTTV FOX 11 in Los Angeles. At the time, executive producer by Jill Van Lokeren told The Hollywood Reporter, “He has what it takes. Beyond the skill and the talent, he’s a natural-born producer. And at this time, this moment in the world with everything he stands for, to me, it’s why I’m here right now. I can’t even tell you how much I believe in him — his voice, his message, his mission, his personality, his humor. It’s exactly what is missing in the world.”
In addition to his drag appearances, books, and albums, RuPaul hosts, judges and executive produces the smash hit reality competition show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The VH1 series has won 13 Emmys and spawned RuPaul’s DragCon — a convention for drag queens held annually in L.A., New York City and London.
“I’ve done everything in movies and TV, designed clothing and makeup lines. That’s where we are today in commerce,” he says in an interview with the LA Times. “Everybody in the world, we live longer and we must take a page from St. Jane Fonda’s book, which is, fit as many lifetimes in one life that you can.”
RuPaul married his partner of 25 years, Georges LeBar, in 2017.
