K-Ci Hailey: Singer to Relaunch Solo Career in 2020

*K-Ci Hailey of Jodeci fame is planning to relaunch his solo career.

The 50-year-old vocalist has signed a new management deal with P Music Group, with plans to drop new music in 2020, Billboard reports. 

“I’ve been a personal fan of K-Ci for years. He is a talented singer, songwriter and producer with one of the most recognizable voices in R&B, said Michael Paran, founder/CEO of P Music Group. “His talent, backstory, trials and commitment to turning around his life will make for another great success story that we are proud to be a part of. Given our roster, K-Ci fits the exact mold of what has helped drive our success with what we do best at P Music Group.”

In a post on his Instagram account, K-Ci wrote: “This is a special time in my career, and I am thrilled about signing with @pmusicgroup. Now is the right time to reintroduce myself to my fans, and I promise that they won’t be disappointed in this new chapter.”

As lead vocalist for Jodeci, Hailey and the group would release three multi-platinum albums between 1991 and 1995. In 1996, the group took a hiatus, but Hailey continued to record with his brother as the duo K-Ci & JoJo, releasing five albums between 1997 and 2013.

Hailey initially went solo in 2006 with the debut album “My Book”. His most notable cover is of Bobby Womack’s “If You Think You’re Lonely Now” in 1994.
