*South LA civil rights group Project Islamic Hope will hold a candlelight vigil tonight (12-28-19) in memory of 6-year-old Dayvon Taylor who died from being beaten allegedly by an acquaintance of his mother, Downey (California) resident Tyler D’Shaun Martin-Brand, 23. He has been arrested and booked for murder. The candlelight vigil is open to the public.
“It’s outrageous that a grown man would beat a 6-year-old child to death. It’s also disturbing that this child’s mother left her son unsupervised with a man she barely knew. Another child, unfortunately, has lost their precious life due to being beaten and killed by the mother’s male friend who wasn’t the child’s father. This will, unfortunately, keep happening until women stop leaving their children with men they barely know. Martin-Brand must answer for this child’s murder and we want him prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” stated Najee Ali CEO of Project Islamic Hope.
