*The one thing we know about Steve Harvey is that he won’t let the haters get in his way or let them get him down when things go wrong.
As we reported earlier, during Sunday’s Miss Universe 2019 event, the host of the international beauty pagean seemingly misspoke while highlighting the National Costume contest portion of the competition.
“Earlier this week, all the contestants competed in a National Costume contest. Here’s the look at the winner, Miss Philippines,” he said.
As he continued to talk about the contest, Miss Malaysia Shweta Sekhon, who was standing beside him on stage, interrupted him.
“It’s not Philippines. It’s Malaysia,” Shweta informed the host, who immediately got flustered and began to blame the teleprompter.

Actually Steve was correct all along. It was the teleprompter’s fault. The Miss Universe officials even confirmed it. OK, that was that. In another portion of the show, he made a joke about the Colombian cartel while speaking with Miss Colombia Gabriela Tafur about his infamous snafu in 2015, in which he accidentally announced her as the winner. “You’ve forgiven me [but] the cartel has not,” he said, adding, “They’re not handling it the same way.”
Good Lord! What did he say that for? His words immediately fired up online backlash from haters who felt it was offensive and inappropriate. Don’t worry, he had a response for ’em.
“Quit tripping every time something negative happens to you,” Harvey tweeted early Monday, along with a video of himself saying, “Now, listen, some bad things are gonna happen to you. That’s life. Know that. The road to success is always under construction.”

“Hate is louder than love, but love is stronger than hate,” a second tweet read. “If you focus on those who love you, you can blow over the haters. Most people hate you only because of the way other people love you. #MondayMotivation.”

You tell ’em, Steve.
By the way, Sunday was Harvey’s fifth consecutive time hosting the pageant, which crowned Zozibini Tunzi From South Africa as this year’s winner.
