School Tells Grandmother to Either Cut Grandson’s Hair Put Him in A Dress! What Would You do?

We are very against violence, but if there were an instance where you could justify a brawl, this would be it.  Michael ‘Tink’ Trimble had a Capri Sun-flavored first day of school planned when his grandmother Randi Woodley got called to the school.

Three Options to Set the Matter Straight

When Woodley arrived at the principal’s office, she was informed that Michael’s hair was too long and that they had three options. The principal said that you could chop it off, braid it and pin it up, or wear a dress to school every day. This is a good time to mention that this child is just four years old!

According to CNN, the scenario was a little juicier than what had been reported originally. They reported that the principal was so passionate about keeping the child’s hair long, that she offered the grandmother an option to have him wear a dress. This way, the child would be classified as transgender, and his hair will be protected by law.

I mean, seriously? Anybody could go berserk just listening to this.

Michael ‘Tink’ Trimble Wasn’t the Only One, Apparently

While the school has made it clear that male students should keep their hair above the T-shirt collar, the superintendent of the school has been very strict against those who don’t comply. Another mother named Kambryn Cox had to face a similar issue with her child’s dreadlocks too.

Even if Michael’s case was a first, parents should be disgusted by how this Texas school is dealing with minors. After the incident, parents have begun attending school board meetings and are fighting back by demanding the school’s policies to change.

How Michael’s Grandmother Dealt With the Issue

After the incident, Woodley only wants Michael to know that he is perfect.

“I was just always taught to embrace. Embrace my identity, embrace who we are,” Woodley said in an interview. “I’m trying to teach him that God created you, and you can feel good about it. You’re loved, you’re beautifully made.”

The bottom line is that Woodley didn’t cut Michael’s hair or put him in a dress. However, he was expelled from school and Woodley was arrested for child abandonment. Wow.

Woodley and her grandson have also kickstarted a petition on Change.org to have the policies of the Texas school revised. It looks like they’re very close to achieving their goal because they’ve collected more than 19,000 signatures so far!
