Nigerian Woman Behind Viral Skin Bleaching Bath Threatens to Expose Haters

*A Nigerian beauty expert has addressed the criticism she has being hit with over a viral video of her extreme skin bleaching procedure.

We previously reported… Twitter users have been left in shock over a video circulating of a woman in a tub of water, having her dark skin peeled off via some type of scraper. The water changes color the more the skin is removed by a skin bleaching chemical.

The woman doing the peeling, identified as Fareedah, says: “As you can see, it’s very fast. You can see now it’s peeling off and this is December period, it’s very, very effective. The result is instant. Can you see this? It works just for 30,000 naira. The skin peels off immediately and you get whitening immediately.”

According to Fareedah, her direct messaging on Instagram has been flooded with hate and comments questioning her skills as a so-called “skincare specialist.”

She believes she owes no one an explanation because she simply provided the service that her client requested.

Skin lightening is popular in South Asia and the Middle East, and Africa is experiencing a “massive trend of increased use (of skin bleaching), particularly in teenagers and young adults,” said Lester Davids, a physiology professor at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

“The older generation used creams — the new generation uses pills and injectables. The horror is that we do not know what these things do in high concentrations over time in the body,” he added.

Fareedah has also threatened to release screenshots of the individuals sending her disrespectful private messages on social media.
