Slick Woods Has Undergone Chemotherapy for Stage 3 Skin Cancer: ‘Stop Treating Me Like a Victim’

Slick Woods

*Model Slick Woods, the face of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty campaign, revealed this week that she has undergone chemotherapy.

The Shade Room reported that the runway star — real name is Simone Thompson — exclusively told them that she’s battling stage 3 melanoma, also known as skin cancer — and the disease is spreading.

“How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald,” Woods, 23, wrote as the caption of a photo of herself with boyfriend Micky Munday and friends.

She added in a second Instagram post that she doesn’t want folks to pity her, saying, “Stop treating me like a victim.”

After The Shade Room post, celebs like Taraji P. Henson voiced their support. “You are already on the other side of this healthy and strong like it never happened. I adore you,” she wrote. Lala Anthony added “love u sis.”

The Shade Room also added: “At this time, we continue to pray for Slick’s health and that she’ll beat this disease. Her good spirit and will to fight is a testament to her strength and she’s certainly not alone in this fight given the outpouring of love and support from friends and fans all over the world. Keep fighting, Slick!”

In 2018, Slick made headlines when she went into labor while walking the runway for Rihanna’s lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty, at New York Fashion Week.
