*Last night, she had Thanksgiving at her house.
Beth Pearson – who was worried about Deja’s (Lyric Ross) mom coming to dinner, during the “This Is Us” midseason finale – but Susan Kelechi Watson isn’t worried about the fan favorite drama. EUR talked to the Brooklyn native about Sade, seasons and storylines.
Q: If you could create, develop or produce your own project what would it be? Who would star in it?
Susan Kelechi Watson: So easy! I would do the Sade biopic. And I would play Sade!
Q: Would Sade make an appearance?
Susan Kelechi Watson: She can do anything she wants! She’s the queen!
Q: How do you feel about Beth’s journey this season?
Susan Kelechi Watson: Every season I feel like I learn a little bit more about Beth. This season I feel like I’m learning who she is when it comes to family. Who she is to her kids. Who she is to her husband. And who she is in terms of finding her true self and as a woman. All those things are coming together this season in a really cool way.
Q: Where would you like Beth’s storyline to go in season five?
Susan Kelechi Watson: I would love to see more of Beth and Randall before they got married, like after college. The time period when they were courting one another to be married. What it was like for them in their 20s and in love. I really had fun shooting the episode when Randall first proposed to Beth. I love that era of them. I would love to see more of that.
“This Is Us” returns January 14, 2020. Until then stream all episodes on the NBC App. For more details click here.
