*Beloved actor John Witherspoon died last month at the age of 77, and his official cause of death has been determined according to the death certificate obtained by TMZ.
The outlet reports that Witherspoon died of fatal heart attack, and that he was suffering from several heart ailments before his death in October.

On the death certificate, the heart attack was listed as the primary cause of his passing but other factors like ‘coronary artery disease’ and ‘obesity’ were the second and third underlying causes.Â
Witherspoon also suffered from hypertension, known more commonly as high blood pressure, which may have also contributed to his death.
Witherspoon was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Brittany Murphy, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds and many more Hollywood legends are buried.

Witherspoon passed away at his Sherman Oaks home on October 29 and is survived by his sons Alexander and J.D.
“So…my Dad died today & honestly I’m not sure how to feel. I’m sad, but I’m also happy 4 all the great times we had together. We’d roast each other like homies more than Father & Son, and I really loved that about us,” J.D. posted on Twitter the day after John’s passing.
“In all seriousness I work as hard as I do thanks to seeing Him grind for literally 77 years of his life, and I’m damn proud to be his son.
“If I have even half the career & impact he has had on people I’ll be very happy. His legacy will live on through me, my family, his friends, and everyone else who was touched by him here on earth. He was my best friend & my Hero. I Love U Dad…I’ll miss u.”
Witherspoon planned to appear in the forthcoming “Last Friday” movie, but never got to film the project, which is reportedly in pre-production.
