Remains Found in Search for Missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams

*We have an update regarding the case of Taylor Rose Williams, the missing five-year-old Florida girl. The identification of the remains is pending, according to authorities.

According to authorities, human remains were recovered from a wooded area in Demopolis, Alabama, on Tuesday, six days after Taylor went missing from Jacksonville, Florida.

On Monday, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said that the 5-year-old’s mother, Brianna Williams, was considered a person of interest in the case and that the investigation had led authorities to search for Taylor Rose in the areas surrounding Demopolis, about 60 miles south of Tuscaloosa. Local agencies and others, including the FBI, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Alabama Attorney Generals Office, were involved.

They have not been identified and authorities have not confirmed whether or not they are related to the investigation into Taylor’s disappearance.

Sheriff Williams asked anyone who saw Taylor and her mother together between Jacksonville and Alabama in the last two weeks to call the Sheriff’s Office with that information. Williams said Brianna Williams was believed to have been driving her Honda Accord which has tinted windows and black rims.

Brianna Williams was still reporting for duty as of Tuesday morning, according to Navy officials. Her Navy bio shows she works at the Tactical Operations Center.
