Gospel Singer, Pastor Desmond Pringle Giving Back to Charleston Community with 20th Anniversary Thanksgiving Concert

*Dove Award-nominated Gospel singer and Pastor Desmond Pringle was born and raised in Charleston, SC, and despite residing in Los Angeles over the years, he has always made a point to visit home and contribute to his hometown community.

On Sunday, November 24th, Pringle is celebrating his 20th Anniversary Edition: Coming Home for Thanksgiving Concert, which will provide great, uplifting music as well as support for Charleston families heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

The 20th-anniversary concert marks 20 years since Pringle released his debut album “Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs” and performed his first “Coming Home for Thanksgiving” concert in Charleston at the historic Morris Brown A.M.E Church. This year, he will perform some of his classics, in addition to his latest single “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU,” which will be on his new album set for release in 2020.  The performance with full band and choir will be held, at Faith in Action Christian Fellowship at 3.p.m. Then the week following the concert, Pringle will be partnering with S.C State Representative Wendell Gilliard for a Turkey Giveaway.

“I have done many events in Charleston with the intention of empowering our community,” Pringle said. “That has been a common theme and thread with all of my initiatives here because I think there needs to be a merging between the church and the community in a very practical and pragmatic way.”

Pringle has collaborated with numerous local organizations in Charleston, as well as on a national level, such as the Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s “Our Journey of Hope” program, which supports patients in need emotional and spiritual support while facing cancer.

State Rep. Gilliard is excited about his organization, Project Cool Breeze working together with Pringle for a positive cause.

“We always anticipate making sure we are able to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday as we approach the 21st Annual Turkey Day Giveaway and Project Cool Breeze continues to expand for the benefit of the community,” he said.

“This year, we are pleased to announce Pastor Desmond Pringle’s Coming Home for Thanksgiving Concert, 20th Year Anniversary Edition. [We] look forward to collaborating with Pastor Pringle because we are stronger together.”

Details and registration for the celebratory concert and community effort can be found on Eventbrite and Pringle urges the public to attend for fellowship and a movement for unity and positivity.

“This is a concert with a cause – the cause of empowerment,” He said. “As a pastor, it has become very evident to me that the holidays are not a very joyous and festive time for everybody. And, while I can’t feed everyone, I want to feed someone. I am collaborating with State Rep. Wendell Gilliard and his project Cool Breeze because collaborative efforts are key and why reinvent the wheel? He and his team will be supporting me on Sunday and I will do the same on Tuesday for the turkey giveaway.”

The 20th Anniversary Edition: Coming Home for Thanksgiving Concert will take place at Faith in Action Christian Fellowship, 2130 Gordon Street North Charleston, SC 29405. Tickets can be purchased at the event’s official retail partner – Community Grocery Store, 2145 Dover Street, North Charleston, SC 29405 or on Eventbrite.com by inserting “Coming Home for Thanksgiving”.
