Kickstarter Suspends Tariq Nasheed’s FBA Conference Campaign Amid ‘Harriet’ Criticism [VIDEO]

*Filmmaker and author Tariq Nasheed was on Day 4 of a Kickstarter campaign to raise $200K for a Foundational Black American Convention when the platform suspended him without explanation.

Nasheed details in the 40-minute clip above why his campaign was cancelled — and the reason may surprise you.

In the weeks leading up to the release of “Harriet” in theaters, Tariq was highly critical of the film’s fantastical plot and how Nigerian-born actress Cynthia Enrivo has posted several anti-Black American tweets — therefore making her undeserving of the honor to play an iconic female figure from Black American history.

“Woke” Black folks got on code with his message and didn’t fall for the old okey-doke — as such,  ‘Harriet” was a total bomb at the box office. Meanwhile, the revisionists and agent provocateurs claim the $12 million the film made opening weekend was a massive success.

As Nasheed noted on Twitter, “Can anyone point to any other time in modern history where Hollywood & the mainstream media praised a movie and called it a “success” for making just $12 million dollars on opening weekend?”

Tariq responded to his Kickstarter suspension by immediately taking his fundraising efforts to INDIEGOGO.

“They allow white people to raise money for literally ANYTHING and its cool,” Nasheed said of Kickstarter. “They allowed a white man to raise $55 thousand dollar to make some potato salad. But when Blk ppl want to have a conference, they made up some bogus excuse to suspend it.”

The 30-day Kickstarter campaign began Nov. 1, and in less than four days, 449 backers raised $30,640 towards the $200,000 goal.

Many of Nasheed’s followers agree with him that the campaign was shut down due to the Foundational Black American Conference being an “imminent threat to systematic white supremacy.”

The event aims to bring together Black progressives in the form of doctors, lawyers, business owners and educators to engage in discussion on how to better the Black community.

The official description on the INDIEGOGO page reads: “This is a non-partisan, educational event that will feature expert panels from Black American speakers and professionals. FBAC2020 will also feature think tank forums that will brainstorm on solutions for a Foundational Black American agenda.”

The moment Nasheed launched the crowdfunding for the conference, “the agent provocateurs have been out in full force,” he tweeted. “The funding was immediately successful. Today, racist ass @kickstarter just suspended the campaign & they couldn’t even give a legit reason.”
