Joe Simon National Voter Registration Drive!

*It will begin in the Southern States and Continue on to Los Angeles and Beyond.

Joe Simon, Grammy award winner, former Rhythm and Blues singer was known as “The Mouth of the South” during his Rhythm and Blues career and is now Bishop Joe Simon. Bishop Joe Simon says, “I believe and I’m convinced that voting is necessary, voting is important and voting is a blessing!”

Simon announced his National Voter Registration Drive on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in Tuskegee, Alabama at the First Annual African American/African Cultural Heritage Tourism Conference. Simon’s National Voter Registration Drive is supported by the World Conference of Mayors Inc., the Historic Black Towns and Settlements, Inc. and the Mission Consortium of Churches International, Inc. The Voter Registration Drive will begin in the Southern States.

As spoken by the late great House Oversight Committee Chairman Representative Elijah E. Cummings who was just laid to rest October 25, 2019, “When we’re dancing with the angels, the question will be asked: In 2019, what did we do to make sure we kept our democracy intact?” In another impactful quote, Representative Cummings said, “The cost of doing nothing isn’t nothing.”

“The spirit and the words that Representative Cummings possessed and expressed will live on,” said Simon. “Listen to me and listen to me good now – I don’t want to read it, I don’t want to see it on TV, I don’t want to look it up on the internet, I don’t want to see it on Facebook or any other social media outlets, I don’t want to hear it – I don’t want to know that you refused to get out to the polls and vote! And if you can, take someone with you to vote, as well. Don’t blow this great opportunity and don’t MEET me there, BEAT me there. You are voting for the future of your children, your grandchildren, your country and for a great democracy, thank God! As indicated in the title of my autobiography, ‘Don’t Give Up, You Can Make It If You Try, You Can Win.’”

Simon also says, “I want to thank the World Conference of Mayors, Inc. and the Historic Black Towns and Settlements Alliance, Inc. for honoring and presenting me with a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Work to Preserve the Great African American History and Culture. It is an honor, oh what an honor to receive this great award.”

The life and the blood of many have been shed for our sacred right to vote. Don’t let our ancestors and our community down. Get onboard the Joe Simon Voting Train now. Woot! Woot! Woot…See Ya!
