*On Saturday November 9, 2019 from 1 – 4pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 S. Figueroa Street, 90015, MR511) an impressive line-up of talent will be displayed at the 20th annual “Uplifting Minds II” Entertainment Conference. A panel of entertainment industry professionals will discuss the business of entertainment and then a line-up of experienced and raw talent will perform in a showcase and competition. Presented in part by DBS Sound and Light, the competition winners walk away with over $15,000 valued in prizes.

Those who have participated in “ULMII” have come back years later with stories of success, such as dad/manager of Los Angeles competitor Miguel who was signed to a record deal from an ULMII panelist – now he is a Grammy winner. Mom/manager of Baltimore competitor Naturi Naughton said her daughter was scouted by Broadway at ULMII – now she is starring in the STARZ drama “Power”. In the Baltimore City Paper the Featherstone Brothers said SisQo (Dru Hill), who was at the event, used the original song they performed in the group’s 3rd album as “I Should Be (Your Boyfriend)” – the song went platinum. Father/manager of Los Angeles competitor RoShon Fegan said what he learned from the panel helped him take his son to the next level – starring in Disney’s “Shake It Up” and “Camp Rock”.

Maybe one of the longest running free entertainment conference in Los Angeles, “Uplifting Minds II” was founded in 1999 by Eunice Moseley (www.ThePulseofEntertainment.com) while Promotions Director at The Baltimore Times. With a history hosting community events, Moseley wanted to give young artists a reason throughout the year to practice and hone their artistic talents, and a stage to showcase those talents. In 2001 she added annual dates in Los Angeles.

On Saturday November 9, 2019 the panelists will be pioneering magazine publisher Lee Bailey (www.EURweb.com); Hollywood Attorney Richard Jefferson (www.LawyersRock.com); Television Personality Melody Trice, host of “The Melody Trice Show,” (www.MelodyTrice.com); Public Relations Specialist Edna Sims (www.ESPPR.net), and pioneering Music Executive Dina R. Andrews (www.KnewBeginningsEntertainment.com). San Francisco’s DJ Occult co-host the event while entertaining on the turn-table. There will be special performances by Los Angeles Latin Rapper Innocent Mind and former Baltimore dance winners R.I.C.O.C.H.E.T. The talent showcase will offer performances from Jazz vocalist Elisa Gomez Taylor, Country Christian singer/songwriter Charlene Howell and Percussionist Willie Groove. The competition will showcase 10 young acts.

Admission is free. For more information on the 20th annual “Uplifting Minds II” Entertainment Conference log onto www.UpliftingMinds2.com.
