*The 90s cult classic “Clueless” will be back in our lives soon in the form of an hour long TV episodes from CBS TV Studios.

The original film centers on Cher Horowitz, a high school student who befriends a new student named Tai Frasier and decides to give her a makeover. The TV series takes place in modern day L.A. and follows Cher’s best friend Dionne, originally played by Stacey Dash, and her adjustment to being high school’s new ‘It Girl’ while simultaneously trying to solve her BFF’s strange disappearance, per marieclaire.co.uk.

“It is described as a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latté and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when the high school queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong No. 2 Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans,” according to Deadline.

The original film grossed $56.1 million in the United States. It was followed by a spin-off television sitcom, and a series of books. The three-series show ran from 1996 to 1999.

“To be a part of such an iconic film is a blessing. I feel blessed. I really do,” Dash told Elle magazine back in 2014. “The whole thing was a dream project for me. I mean the words on the page, [director] Amy Heckerling, Alicia Silverstone, Donald Faison, Brittany Murphy—we all had so much fun together. I have nothing bad to say about that whole experience. What you see on-screen is exactly what happened every day on set.,” she added of her filming experience.

Based on her recent arrest for an apparent domestic violence incident, Dash’s involvement in this show seems unlikely.
