Dennis Rodman Hit with Battery Charge for Slapping Man at His Birthday Party

*Dennis Rodman has been charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly slapping a man during his 58th birthday celebration in May. 

According to TMZ, the incident took place at the Buddha Sky Bar in Delray Beach, Florida. Insider claims  Rodman “unprovokedly turned around and smacked” Jeff Soulouque multiple times. The 30-year-old was treated at the hospital for injuries, and doctors diagnosed him with a left corneal abrasion. The following day, Soulouque filed a criminal complaint against Rodman, Complex reports. 

A witness at the party supports Soulouque’s claim that Rodman used an “open hand” to “smack Soulouque two times.” Police have charged Dennis with misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail, 12 months of probation, and a $1,000 fine.

Rodman’s attorney appeared in court Thursday on his behalf and entered a not guilty plea, insisting his client is innocent, NBC News reports.

This latest headline making moment follows accusations that Rodman stole over $500 worth of clothes from a yoga studio in Southern California back in May. 

We previously reported, the owners of VIBES Hot Yoga in Newport Beach say Rodman served as a distraction while his accomplices jacked over $500 in clothing,  TMZ Sports reported.

Surveillance video from inside the store captured the bazaar heist, which shows Rodman with 3 companions — 2 women and 1 man. One of the women puts clothing in her purse while a man drops and shatters a $2,500 crystal before taking it out of the shop on a dolly, the report states.

The owner says Dennis distracted employees while one of the women began stuffing clothing into her purse. At one point, she hides behind Rodman to conceal the act.

Dennis said the yoga studio staff asked the group to move the crystal art piece. In exchange, he claims the employees allowed him and his companions to take items from the store as gifts.
