*(Baltimore, MD) – Jonathan Michael Hicks writer/author has been signed to Brooks Talent Management, Hicks is a Memphis and California native. He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran and screenwriter of the highly successful independent film “Nora’s Hair Salon.”
Prior to his initial film success, his first novel “Never as Good as the First Time” was published in 1996 and he became one of the first minority independent writers/publishers to receive a lucrative two-book distribution deal with Walmart, Inc.
His second novel “My Soul Exposed” had equal success and in 2002, Jonathan moved to Hollywood, where Ernest “Roger” Thomas of the famed 70’s television sitcom “What’s Happening” became his first manager.
Jonathan also hooked up with the producers of “Gang of Roses,” a western starring Lisa Raye, Lil’ Kim, Stacey Dash, Marie Matiko and Monica Calhoun. While on the set the director of the film commissioned Jonathan to write several other screenplays.
In 2012, Jonathan took a break from writing and completed his graduate studies to earn an MBA in Public Administration. He is currently writing two spec television pilots: Jaguar Jack-a gritty crime series pilot that follows the life of Jack “Jaguar” Jackson, retired Baltimore PD detective and his alternative “avatar” transformations to the ruthless of 22nd century Baltimore; and Divorce 101-a drama series of divorced couple forced to open a private divorce law firm together and stakes keep raising as their estranged relationship evolves.
