Wendy Williams’ ‘Unique Legacy’ Earns Her a Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

*Wendy Williams will receive the 2,677th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Oct. 17, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Monday.

The star is in the television category and will be placed on Hollywood Boulevard near stars of television producer Ryan Murphy and actor Jason Bateman, New York Daily News reports. 

“This year’s choices were particularly unique. We were able to recognize the talents of thirty-five artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood,” said Selection Committee Chair and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona. “Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories.”

Wendy started her career in radio almost 25 years ago and now she’s the host of an Emmy nominated nationally syndicated daytime talk show that reaches up to 12 million viewers.   

She’s currently developing a biopic and a documentary for Lifetime Television, tentatively called “How You Doing?,” that will focus on her life and her career, drug use and rape. 

According to the official press release: “The authorized project provides a revealing look at Wendy’s journey, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show.”

Lifetime sources tell TMZ … the biopic spans her life from ages 10 to 55, covering super intimate topics like her coke habit, sex romps, fat shaming from her family and a never-before-told story of date rape at the hands of a chart-topping artist.

Also on the table, according to our sources … her experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood, details from her marriage to Kevin Hunter as well as her divorce and her relationship with Mo’Nique.

The biopic will drop sometime in 2020.
