*The Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center announces the inaugural Faith Based and Inspirational Film Festival Saturday, October 12th from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm at Los Angeles Center Studios 405 South Bixel Street in Los Angeles.
Come see Emanuel (about prayer warriors who lost their lives due to a mass shooting), Let Go and Let God (a film about two people who question God after the sudden death of loved ones), Amazing Grace (a documentary about Aretha Franklin’s days at the New Bethel Baptist Church), Breakthrough (a film about a mother who prays for a miraculous recovery for her 14 year old child), and Sule and the Case of the Tiny Spark (an animated short about a young African girl seeking the meaning of a popular proverb). Each film is a work of art and each film is filled with lessons of faith.
Some of the films will make their debut at the BHERC Faith Based and Inspirational Film Fest and some have been previously released, so fans will be granted another special opportunity to see them on the big screen. Such is the case with the late Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin’s documentary Amazing Grace.Â
After each film a question and answer period will be led by local pastors such as Rev. James K. McKnight of Christian Fellowship LA, Rev. Pastor Lemuel Mossett of Calvary Santa Monica, Rev. John E. Cager, III of Ward AME, Rev. KW Tulloss of Weller Street Baptist, Rev. Joyce Reece Kitchen of Emanuel/Turner AME, Pastor Sandie Richards of 1st United Methodist San Fernando, and Pastor William D. Smart of Christ Libertarian Ministries.
