*Snoop Dogg and Philadelphia Eagles’ receiver DeSean Jackson are doing their part to honor slain rapper Nipsey Hussle in a new feature produced by the NFL Network.

Later tonight, the NFL Network will air a special on Jackson showing his conversation with Snoop about Nipsey and the impact he had on their community. Both DeSean and Nipsey grew up in Crenshaw, and the NFL star was pals with the rapper long before the fame.

Jackson shared a preview of his interview with Snoop on his IG, and in it we see them talking about JAY-Z’s love for Nip.

“I seen Jay after Nip passed & he gave me a tight hug and said “I really loved him so much, man damn we were just talking about him.” He really loved and respected Nip so much, it was just different, you could feel it,” Snoop says.

“Certain people in life really touch you no matter what and his spirit was so beautiful and when I seen Jay Z & Beyonce at the funeral I knew he loved him.” he added.

As noted by Complex, in between the clips of folks talking about Hussle, archival footage highlights his motivational and entrepreneurial spirit.

“You wouldn’t understand the metrics of his mind, if you couldn’t understand what he was getting at,” Snoop said. “I look back at his legacy. He owned that whole corner, man. That corner was the corner [the police] used to throw him out of…That’s the full 360 mind state of a man who you thought was a gangbanger.”

Snoop also noted that Hussle lives on in the message he shared through his music and the work he did for his community.

“Sometimes when we’re on this Earth, people don’t understand our value,” Snoop said. “One thing my grandmother told me, she said, ‘When you’re gone, your work is going to speak for you.’ … I believe that man’s work is speaking for him.”

The NFL special airs in full tonight (Sept. 24) at 8pm ET.

In related news, Jackson partnered with NFL Auction to put custom made Nipsey Hussle cleats worn during pregame warmups up for bid each week in an effort to raise money for a charity in Nip’s name, per uproxx.com.

“Our players are extremely philanthropic and are very thoughtful about the causes that are near and dear to their heart,” Alexia Gallagher, vice president of philanthropy and executive director of the NFL Foundation, told Uproxx by phone. “It’s really great that they are able to use our platform to be able to help support those causes.”
