‘Breaking Bad’ Movie to Feature More Than 10 Characters From TV Series

*More details have dropped about “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” the long-awaited film adaptation of the hit AMC drama series.

We previously reported… the movie was written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan, and will find Aaron Paul reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman.

The official synopsis reads: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.” As noted by Complex, fans can expect to see “more than 10 familiar characters” from the original series, including Skinny Pete and Badger. Gilligan told THR the first started working in the feature story during production on “Breaking Bad.”

“I didn’t really tell anybody about it, because I wasn’t sure I would ever do anything with it,” he said. “But I started thinking to myself, ‘What happened to Jesse?’ You see him driving away. And to my mind, he went off to a happy ending. But as the years progressed, I thought, ‘What did that ending—let’s just call it an ending, neither happy, nor sad—what did it look like?'”

If you have never seen one single episode of this amazing series, Gilligan’s story doesn’t bother to catch up viewers. “We don’t slow down to explain things to a non-Breaking Bad audience,” he said.

Bob Odenkirk, who plays Saul Goodman in the series, was first to reveal last month that the movie had been shot, and praised the creative team for doing a great job at keeping it a secret.

“I’ve heard so many different things about it, but I am excited about the Breaking Bad movie. I can’t wait to see it…I don’t know what people know and don’t know,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret.”

El Camino drops on Netflix Oct. 11. The feature will also play in select theaters in 68 cities including Los Angeles, Albuquerque, New York, and more. Ticket info can be found here.
