*Nike has called it quits with Antonio Brown as the NFL investigates the Patriots receiver over sexual assault allegations,
The company has severed ties with the star player, and Brown is no longer associated with the footwear giant, as first reported by The Boston Globe.
“Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete,” a spokesperson from the company told CBS Boston.
Nike has not provided additional details as to why they are no longer dealing with Brown or which side called off the agreement. The timing suggests the brand does not want to be associated with Brown amid accusations that he sexually assaulted a former trainer.

We previously reported… the alleged victim, Britney Taylor, has filed a federal lawsuit against Brown in Florida claiming he abused her twice in 2017 and once in 2018 while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brown has denied the allegations, claiming Taylor is simply gunning for his money. His lawyer, Darren Heitner, told The Associated Press his client plans to countersue.
“He will pursue all legal remedies to not only clear his name, but to also protect other professional athletes against false accusations,” Heitner said in a statement, per MSN.com.
Heitner said Brown and Taylor had “a consensual personal relationship.”
In the statement, he also explains how Taylor was looking for funding from Brown to launch a business to the tune of $1.6 million.
“When Mr. Brown refused to make the $1.6 million ‘investment,’ the accuser supposedly cut off communication with Mr. Brown,” Heitner contends. “However, in 2018, the accuser resurfaced and offered to travel to Pennsylvania and South Florida to train Mr. Brown for the upcoming season. Thereafter, the accuser engaged Mr. Brown in a consensual personal relationship. Any sexual interaction with Mr. Brown was entirely consensual.”
Heitner claims Brown and Taylor’s relationship continued after the alleged rape in May 2018.
