*JAY-Z is back at the center of a firestorm after an interview resurfaced over the weekend of him discussing social justice issues at a media event with New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft, Van Jones and others.
In the clip above, Jigga explains how growing up in a single parent house causes people to have an “adverse feeling toward authority” which causes them to tell police “f*ck you” resulting in interactions with law enforcement that “causes people to lose lives.”
As noted by NewsOne, folks are pissed by Jigga’s belief that Black single mothers are to blame for police brutality.
Twitter user @musa_gwebani responded to the clip by noting: “The weirdest thing about the Jay Z interview is that he figures a father is the only legitimate authority in a house and in the absence of a man the next person with a penis is most powerful, even if it’s a just a boy. The woman who raised you ain’t shit.”

JAY went on to say that growing up in a single parent environment prompts you have an adverse feeling towards authority with thoughts such as “I hate my dad, ain’t nobody tells me what to do. I’m the man of the house.”

The Roc Nation owner recently announced that part of his deal with the NFL will be an Inspire Change apparel colections and Songs of the Seasons campaign –with proceeds from the clothing line going towards the Inspire Change initiative.
