Don’t Panic! ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Spin-Off Will Air 48 Hours After ‘Power’ Series Finale: 50 Cent

*If you’re a fan of Starz’s “Power” and you’re already dreading the end of the series when its 6th season ends we’ve got good news, for ya!

The show’s spin-off series – “Power Book ll: Ghost,” a prequel – is already set to premiere just 48 hours after the “Power” season finale, according to the show’s star/co-creator 50 Cent. That means you won’t miss a beat. So relax, will ya!

Along with his announcement, Fif enclosed a clip that shows his character Kanan sitting down with his son Shawn. If you’re a longtime “Power” fan, you already know that Kanan will kill his son.  And, of course, fans of the show also saw die in season 5 after a shootout with police.

In the clip, Shawn visits Kanan in jail and tells him he can’t play basketball anymore. He let’s him know he got a gig as a driver for Ghost. Kanan ‘s response is that he’s not surprised and asked how Ghost is treating him.

It was earlier this summer at the Television Critics meetings in Los Angeles, co-creator Courtney Kemp announced that “Power” would be getting the highly-anticipated spinoff and Mary J. Blige was also pegged to star in the series.

“Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of ‘Power.’ ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ will continue the journey of some of ‘Power’s’ most controversial characters.”
