*Irv Gotti is the latest celeb to weigh in on JAY-Z’s Roc Nation x NFL partnership.

Speaking to Page Six about what he calls “a brilliant move for the NFL” to team with JAY in becoming their “live music entertainment strategist” and social justice advocate via a new $89 million initiative, Gotti admits that he questions if Jay is being made to “look like a pawn” by the NFL.

“If it was a masterminded plan, then you just used Hov for a masterminded plan and made him look like a pawn in this whole f*cking thing,” he said.

“To sit there and watch JAY talk [at the widely publicized meeting] while Roger Goodell is sitting there quiet, it almost looks like the NFL manufactured and manipulated JAY to be the front and face of the bullsh*t, knowing JAY is so powerful that he can make people forget about [Kaepernick and others] kneeling,” Gotti wondered.

As previously reported, some folks are not thrilled about Jay’s NFL deal, including Colin Kaepernick, his girlfriend Nessa Diab, NFL player Eric Reid and activist Shaun King.

JAY-Z has maintained that his involvement with the NFL is to push the league to the next step in the kneeling protest.

During his presser last Wednesday, Jay was asked directly if he would kneel or stand, as Kaepernick protested the national anthem before football games by kneeling in order to raise social injustice awareness.

“In that case, this is a success. This is the next thing because there’s two parts of the protest,” Jay said. “I think we’ve moved past kneeling and I think it’s time to go into actionable items.”

He added: “I don’t want people to stop protesting at all. Kneeling — I know we’re stuck on it because it’s a real thing — but kneeling is a form of protest. I support protest across the board. We need to bring light to the issue. I think everyone knows what the issue is — we’re done with that,” he added.

“We all know the issue now. OK, next. What are we moving (on to) next? …And I’m not minimizing that part of it because that has to happen, that’s a necessary part of the process. But now that we all know what’s going on, what are we going to do? How are we going to stop it? Because the kneeling was not about a job, it was about injustice.”
