*West Hollywood, CA – Inside of the London Hotel, the scene was set! Island themed food, drinks, photo backdrops, journalists and plenty of children were all present for the screening of “The Angry Birds Movie 2.”
“My kids are going to love this movie!” says EUR associate, Robin Ayers, walking out of the theater.
After a full belly and a night full of laughs at the screening, we were all ready to sit down with Sterling K. Brown and the other cast members to chat about some of the highlights of the film.
“I think [the movie] really models some great things. Team work and that it’s okay to feel your feelings,” says Rachel Bloom, who plays the voice of newcomer, Silver, in the animation. Silver, who is the little sister of Chuck, (one of the veterans on Bird Island), is praised in “The Angry Birds Movie 2″ because of her high intelligence and quick wit that parallels her heroism to that of Red, (the town’s hero in the original film).
When asked how “Red” feels about sharing his hero title with Silver, Jason Sudeikis, who portrays that character says,
“He doesn’t give it up easily, and he may not give it up at all.”

Rachel adds, “I think learning the hard lesson that someone else’s success doesn’t necessarily mean your diminishment. That two people can share a spotlight and there can be two different people (or birds) of value.”
Speaking of someone else’s success, hotshot actor Sterling K. Brown joins the cast of “The Angry Birds Movie 2”, as the voice of Garry, the wise guy inventor and seemingly smartest pig on Pig Island.
Sterling talks about showcasing his comedic chops while using a British accent in the film.
“It’s been said that) “I make people cry all the time,” referring to his lead role in NBC’s “This Is Us.”
“I don’t want to bring people down all the time. I feel like there’s some yin and yang to life so if you bring them down, you gotta bring them back up again.”
“The Angry Birds Movie 2” will be released nationwide, August 16, 2019. Watch the entire interview (above) with the cast now.
