*If you know anything about former NFLer and current sports commentator Shannon Sharpe, you know he has a “fondness” for Nicole Murphy. Therefore to certain folks, it comes as no surprise that he’s coming to her defense of that serious lip-lock with Antoine Fuqua, which she says was just their way of saying hello.
So for those who assume he caught a case of “heartbreak” after seeing the pics, he still defended her on Twitter with a “They’re just friends,” comment that basically mirrors the statement that Murphy made in response to the pics and controversy. He added, “That’s still my girl and I love her.”
Well then, you won’t be surprised to learn that a bunch of his followers, however, are not happy with him for still supporting Murphy.
“You can do better Shannon, woman like Nicole like a man who has money like her ex husband Eddie Murphy, you see the engagement to that ex Football player turned TV personality didn’t last long. I wonder why??” someone pointed out, while another reminded him that Nicole was seen “kissing a whole married man… I say.” Someone else told him, “You’re too good for her UNK!!”
As we reported earlier, socialite Nicole Murphy, 51, and Hollywood director Antoine Fuqua, 53, were spotted seriously embracing each other as they sipped coffee on a patio at the Regina Isabella Hotel in Ischia, Italy over the weekend. The two were later photographed kissing again while sitting on sunbeds at the hotel’s swimming pool.

Controversy erupted from the photos because Fuqua is married to actress Lela Rochon, who fueled the affair speculation by deactivating both her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Murphy, of course, is being seen as the villain for essentially stealing another woman’s husband, but Eddie Murphy’s ex said there is no reason for people to be freaking out or judging her negatively because they are just friends.
“Antoine and I are just family friends. I ran into him in Italy and we exchanged a friendly hello and that was it,” she said in a statement.
But looking at the pictures on the Internet, many people didn’t believe it and proceeded to blast her even more.
