*R. Kelly’s crisis manager Darrell Johnson got with Gayle King on “CBS This Morning” and basically threw Kellz under the bus.
Well, he did give an update on the embattled R&B star, but he also revealed personal thoughts about Kelly that might shock some people.
The bottom line with Kelly at this point is that he is being held without bond at Chicago’s federal Metropolitan Correctional Center for indictments in Illinois and New York. Kelly will appear in federal court in Brooklyn in August to face new sex-crime charges. The singer has been slammed with a combined 18 counts, including child pornography by federal prosecutors.
“I am concerned about Mr. Kelly,” Johnson told King in the interview.
Following up on his comment, King inquired if Kelly was under a suicide watch, to which Johnson replied …
“I would assume at this point he is. Mr. Kelly’s a mess.”

Johnson countered the narrative that his client was doing OK in behind bars, reminding people that Kelly cannot read, write or watch TV.
“It’s almost like a jury has already convicted him.”
Even though Johnson shows concern for Kelly in the interview, he apparently is not blinded by Kelly’s fame and realizes he reps a man who’s being accused of being a sexual predator and child molester. With that in mind, he in no uncertain way let the world know that he would NEVER leave his 20-year-old daughter alone with Kelly.
“Absolutely not. I wouldn’t leave my daughter with anybody that’s accused of pedophilia. Period.”
With comment in mind, King asked him why he continues to work with the alleged sexual abuser.
“You’re defending R. Kelly but at the same time, saying you wouldn’t leave your own daughter with him?”
Interestingly, all Johnson would say was …
“I wouldn’t leave my daughter with anyone… I’ll say it again (anyone) that’s accused of being a pedophile.”
