Wendy Williams Celebrates 55th Birthday Having Breakfast at Tiffany’s

wendy williams - birthday

*Wendy Williams celebrated her 55th birthday on July 18, and she hosted a special episode of her daytime talk show by having TV personality Andy Cohen on her show for the first time in six years, according to a tweet from Andy (see Instagram embed below).

Apparently, the two were not on the best terms because of Wendy’s ex, per Hollywood Life, but they seem to have squashed the beef.

The self-described Queen of Media rocked a tiara and a strapless black dress her bday, and she hit up the famed Tiffany’s for breakfast with friends, which she shared in an Instagram story.

In one photo, Williams is seen smiling over a birthday cake in the form of a classic Tiffany’s box, captioning the snap, “Breakfast @tiffanysandco! Happy birthday to me…civilized! Go to my #IGstory to see how I spent my birthday and the new shoes I got! #hbd #cake” (see the IG post below).

Wendy celebrated in a big way amidst the cloud of controversy that she’s currently shrouded in. Earlier this year she revealed that she was battling a relapse of alcohol and drug addiction and was living in a sober living house. She also divorced her husband, Kevin Hunter, and recently shared with fans her lymphedema diagnosis.

As we previously reported, since filing for a divorce from her hubby of 22 years, folks have been speculating about just how much of her multimillion-dollar fortune is at risk because she reportedly has no prenup in place, according to News One.

In Touch Weekly noted back in April that the talk show host is worth an estimated $60 million, and yahoo.com listed a breakdown of how Williams amassed her fortune — peep below:

She started out in radio.

Wendy graduated from Northeastern University in 1986 with a degree in communications and a minor in journalism. She set out to do radio, landing her first job in the Virgin Islands, where she said she made $3.75 an hour.

Wendy moved back stateside, and her radio career blossomed.

After a short stint abroad, she moved back to the U.S. Once in New York City, Wendy started her own show called The Wendy Williams Experience that was a major hit. According to the Washington Post, she was pulling in over 12 million listeners at the time. Later, in November 2009, she was also inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

She’s also a New York Times best-selling author.

Wendy wrote her first book in 2004, titled Wendy’s Got the Heat, and has since wrote six(!) more books. Cha-ching!

She started her daytime talk show 10 years ago.

After 23 years in radio, Wendy transitioned to television. Since then, her show has reached syndication in 53 countries.
