Kanye and Kim Kardashian Reach Out to White House for Help with A$AP Rocky Case

*Kim Kardashian reached out to her White House connections about ASAP Rocky’s detention in Sweden. She even took to Twitter to thank Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, and Jared Kushner.

As we previously reported, Rocky, along with three of his associates, were arrested earlier this month after defending themselves against two aggressive Afghan migrants who followed and harassed them along a busy city block, and it was all caught on videos that were shared on the rapper’s Instagram account.

The hip-hop star is said to be in solitary confinement without any visitation or call privileges, and facing up to six years in prison, if convicted. TMZ reported that he’s jailed inside an alleged “disease-ridden” facility. Rocky could be held in prison until he is due to stand trial in mid-August.

His situation in Sweden has been criticized by members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the U.S. Department of State issued a warning to the Swedish government over the treatment of the Harlem-born artist.

According to a TMZ report, Kanye told Kardashian to reach out to the White House over Rocky’s arrest. The report suggests that the move was met with agreement that the musician was being treated unfairly in Sweden and in need of assistance.

Earlier this week, Rep. Adriano Espaillat and Congressional Black Caucus members called on U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to help freeing Rocky and his two associates.

“We are calling on Secretary Pompeo to do more,” Espaillat said, per ABC News. “This is not enough. It is unconscionable that young men that are doing well, they are on the right track in life, they’re very successful, they’re icons in the hip-hop community, are treated under these inhuman conditions.”

Rocky appeared in court on Friday where the judge ordered that he remain jailed while the investigation into the street brawl in downtown Stockholm continues.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador to Sweden said her country does not have it in for black people — despite A$AP’s legal woes and what Quavo recently revealed about what happened to him in the country.

Karin Olofsdotter appeared on ‘TMZ Live’ Thursday and when pressed about the man who instigated the assault, the Ambassador suggested A$AP’s crime may be more serious, although she wouldn’t elaborate.
