Cop Tells Black Realtor and Client to ‘Quit Playing the Race Card’ as They’re ‘Illegally Detained’ [VIDEO]

*A black realtor and his client sued the city of Cincinnati Monday, claiming they were illegally detained after cops were called on them during the showing of a house for sale.

The realtor, Jerry Isham, tells Inside Edition that he was showing a prospective buyer a home when cops suddenly appeared on the scene, ordered them out of the house and placed both men in cuffs.

Officers claims they received a 911 call about a home that had been broken into back in November.

“The house is for sale, but it’s not an open house today. And I just seen two male black subjects force the front door open,” the caller tells the 911 operator in audio that was just released.

Officers responded to the home, and footage captured the exchange between the cops, the realtor and his client — see the clip above.

Isham explains to the officers that he used a key to get into the home, which he acquired from a lock box. But the officers still cuffed and detained the men. The prospective buyer, Anthony Edwards, responds with: “If we was white, though, y’all would have…”

“We would do the same thing. Quit playing the race card. OK?” a cop interjects.

The two men are eventually released when their stories check out and the officers apologize.

Isham, a realtor for 32 years, told Inside Edition that he could not “believe that the police were there for us.”

Police union spokesman Daniel Hils insists the officers acted correctly.

“The idea being pushed out that this is a racial thing is absolutely silly,” Hils told Inside Edition. “To handcuff someone that is potentially a felon is the proper thing to do, it makes everybody safer.”

As for Edwards, he says he’s shopping for a home elsewhere.

Isham and Edwards sued the city of Cincinnati over the illegal detainment. City officials told Inside Edition that the suit has been settled and both men will reportedly received $151,000. Meanwhile, cops and other city employees will be receiving training.
