Bounce TV’s ‘In The Cut’ Returns For Season 5 with More Funny For Fans (EUR Exclusive!)

*Season 5 of the hit original Bounce TV comedy series In The Cut kicks off tonight, Monday, July 15, 2019 at 9:00 PM.

The series stars Dorien Wilson (The Parkers, Dream On) as Jay Weaver, an accomplished entrepreneur and barbershop owner who is kept on his toes by Cheryl, played by Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show, The First Family), the co-owner of the beauty salon next door and his love interest-turned-wife in season 5.

Ken Lawson (The Parkers) returns as Jay’s thirty-something illegitimate son from a short-lived fling now in on the family business, as does John Marshall Jones (The Smart Guy) as fellow barber and pal Smitty.

EURweb’s Jill Munroe spoke with Dorien and Kellita about the casts chemistry, their favorite storylines and what we can look forward to from this season.

Both Dorien and Kellita are TV veterans having worked on various hit shows before landing on “In The Cut.” Both agree that one of the elements about this show is the cast. The show films very quickly, 13 episodes in 11 days. That’s a short amount of time to not only learn your dialog, but create chemistry and timing. Dorien jokingly added that sleep comes after those 11 days.

“It’s a wonderful experience,  we have an amazing cast. Everybody is veterans. By the third day, we have a rhythm. The cast is family. When we’re filming, I see them more than my real family.”

This season Jay and Cheryl are newlyweds, adjusting to life living together, while their friends re-learn life with the new couple.

Storylines to look forward to: dealing with in-laws, dating mishaps, more super funny barbershop hijinks and of course, special guests.

This season, guest stars include Angie Stone, Stevie J, Tiny Lister Jr., Alex Thomas, Judge Kevin Ross, Porsche Coleman and more.
