LGBTQ, this past weekend your “community” (as it’s often referred to) seemed very proud! All of your bright rainbow colors; your creative costumes; the flowing banners; the happy dancing – what a sight as the news continues to replay what took place on this Global Gay Pride Day 2019!
You were four million strong marching down the streets of New York, while thousands of others did so all around the world. What a celebration!
So, while the government has recognized certain aspects of your community as the law of the land – and I do respect that – where’s the thanks?
Your movement is often piggybacked with the civil rights movement of the 1960s. During those turbulent times, you would hear in Dr. Martin Luther King’s speeches, “Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty we’re free at last!” They prayed a lot and sang praises to God for the hope of the progress that was being made.
During your march (not “parade” as someone pointed out), there were all kinds of signs with statements like anti-government, police brutality, inequality, race etc., but I did not see a single sign, nor hear any of the many interviews that gave honor to God like “We’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord,” which was a staple in the civil rights movement.

I’m not being facetious, but when you get overwhelming responses and participation as demonstrated on that day, that’s something to be thankful for. It’s indicative of the fact that you persevered and are now a Bona Fide part of the American fabric.
Now, since this nation was founded upon the principles of God (as evidenced in the Constitution), and every major progressive movement was rooted in those principles, why won’t you shout from the rooftops that it was your faith, hope, trust in God’s grace and mercy that brought you 50 years through your struggle from Stonewall to now?
We know there is a God when we look at His creation…there’s no denying when we see it! Look at the magnificence, the wonderment of the stars in the sky, the galaxies, the intelligence and reasoning we have in the human race, and the animals (how birds know to fly south in formation), how He keeps the oceans separated from land – look at His creation. Praise God for all His blessings!
