Vogue Italia Under Fire Over Black Klansman Fashion by Artist Mous Lamrabat

*Vogue Italia has come under fire for attempting to make the KKK sexy and fashionable.

Artist Mous Lamrabat is the mastermind behind the image above — a black man wearing a reinterpretation of a Ku Klux Klan hood, equipped with a Nike swoosh.

Lamrabat explained, “KousKousKlan Fear is a tricky thing, what if we take symbols that fear us and bring it in a way that it becomes something we can smile at?”

Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, the rest of us are like… “Why would Black folks “smile” at an image of a Black male dressed like a Klansman?”

Do you agree that this bold fashion and art statement is in poor taste?

Shortly after posting the image, Mous LamRabat must have been hit hard with a dose of “B*tch, please”…because he swiftly deleted the post and replaced it with this hooded photo above of a man with balloons as his head, writing, “Maybe this is better than… I’m very sorry but ignorants won again…”

The Black Klansman is the latest race-related controversy from the fashion industry. You recall famed Italian luxury brand Gucci came under fire earlier this year for its $900 “Haute Couture Blackface” sweater, as one person described it (see below):

Gucci issued an apology and confirmed that the turtleneck had been “immediately removed from our online store and all physical stores.”

“Gucci deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the wool balaclava jumper,” the company said in a statement shared to Twitter. “We consider diversity to be a fundamental value to be fully upheld, respected, and at the forefront of every decision we make.”

The statement continued: “We are fully committed to increasing the diversity throughout our organization and turning this incident into a powerful learning moment for the Gucci team and beyond.”

And then there’s this… more racist fashion and art from the House of Caucacity:
