Cuba Gooding Jr. ‘Trusted the System’ and Turned Himself in … and Still Got Arrested (But At Least He’s Smiling)

*Cuba Gooding Jr. DID turn himself in this afternoon in New York AND will be charged with forcible touching, a misdemeanor, according to his attorney, Mark Heller.

Earlier, it had been posited that the actor might not turn hiself in because his legal team said surveillance video showed that he did not touch any one inappropriately. However, prosecutors don’t see it that way.

When he arrived to turn himself in, Gooding smiled and said nothing. We can only wonding what he has to say now. After all, he was seen on video earlier this week at LAX, on his way to NYC, saying that put his “trust in the system.”

In that same interview interview, Gooding denied the allegation.

“There’s a tape that shows what really happened. That’s the most important thing,” he said. “I met a bunch of people, I said hello, I took pictures. And you have to have faith in what people say.”

When asked “was there any groping involved,” he replied, “nothing.”

The still unidentified woman told police that Gooding Jr. inappropriately touched her breasts on Sunday night at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge of Seventh Avenue in Midtown. When she protested, the two allegedly got into an argument.
