New from Prince: ‘Originals’ Album Released On His 61st Birthday

*Prince has been gone for three years now. Fortunately though, his music will live on forever. In fact, a new album from the late artist of previously unreleased material is being released today, his birthday (06-07-19).

The man once known as “The Artist,” would have been 61-years-old today and fans of have been blessed with a new album courtesy of his massive archives. As a result, Prince’s estate has issued a new collection of songs he wrote for other artists are presented with his original versions. In fact, the title of the project is “Originals.”

So yes, “Originals” includes Pthe Purple One’s original demo versions of classic hits songs like Shelia E.’s “The Glamorous Life,” The Time’s “Jungle Love,” The Bangles’ “Manic Monday” and his original recording of  “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which was popularized onthe charts by Sinéad O’Connor.

And wait. There’s more. His estate has also released a deluxe edition of “Purple Rain,” as well as a demo album titled “Piano & a Microphone 1983.”

If you’re interested in purchasing “Originals,” be advised that it’s currently streaming exclusively on Tidal. Don’t worry ’cause it will be available to other streaming platforms, including as Apple Music and Spotify, on June 21.

If you’re looking to pick up a physical copy of the new project on CD and 180-gram purple vinyl, they’ll be ready for purchasing on July 19.

He may be gone in physical world, but through his music, he’ll always be with us. Happy Birthday Prince!
