*Rapper/actor Ice Cube has purchased the Marina del Rey home of martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme for $7.25 million. LA Times reports that the custom contemporary home was built in 2011, and features “a home theater, a gym and a poured concrete-and-glass wine cellar. A glass-enclosed staircase and an elevator connect the three-story home.”

The home also boasts interiors of 7,574 square feet, which include a modern kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, a wet bar, six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. There are six fireplaces, including one in the master suite. Pocket doors off each level open to terrace patios overlooking the canal. The rooftop deck with a swimming pool overlooks the vibrant city and ocean views.

Van Damme is known for his roles in “Until Death,” “Double Impact,” and “Bloodsport.” More recently, the 55-year-old lent his voice to the animated film “Kung Fu Panda 3.” He also made headlines for an upcoming Amazon series, in which he plays himself, as well as his secret agent alter-ego.

Van Damme reportedly bought the home back in 2012 for $7 million, a year or so after it was built. The property came up for sale last year for about $10 million and was more recently listed for $7.949 million.

46-year-old Ice Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson, has released 10 studio albums as a solo artist and a member of the rap group N.W.A. As an actor, he has appeared in such films as “Friday,” “Barbershop,” and “Ride Along.” He also wrote the soundtrack for the recently released comedy “Keanu.”

Last month, Cube revealed a disturbing truth about race and movie audience during the press junket for “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” and he praised the “#BlackLivesMatter movement for spreading awareness.

“A lot of people compare black on black murder with police killing citizens. But there is no comparison. Citizen on citizen crime happens with every race. There is white on white crime, Chinese on Chinese crime, Japanese on Japanese crime. Everybody does crime on their own. The police and government killing citizens is a whole different matter. We should never get those lines blurred.”
