*Famed costume designer and stylist to the stars June Ambrose wasted no time taking to Twitter Tuesday morning to apologize to the family and friends of late designer Kate Spade for the insensitive remarks she made at the 2019 CFDA Awards Monday night.
Ambrose hosted the red carpet show, which was live-streamed online, and during her chat with entrepreneur Hannah Bronfman, she asked what designer she was wearing, and the influencer said Kate Spade.
Ambrose then noted that Spade was “another one of my favorite American designers.”
“Are you here with Kate? Is she here?” Ambrose inquired of Bronfman. “Did you come before her or did she skip by me?”

Good morning I want to address an error I made last night while hosting the CFDA red carpet. I sincerely apologize to the family and friends of the late Kate Spade, in addition to the team at Kate Spade for having misspoken. I made a mistake and I’m sorry to those I offended.

She also tweeted early Tuesday morning, apologizing for her mistake and admitting she made “an error.”
“Good morning I want to address an error I made last night while hosting the CFDA red carpet. I sincerely apologize to the family and friends of the late Kate Spade, in addition to the team at Kate Spade for having misspoken. I made a mistake and I’m sorry to those I offended,” she wrote on Twitter.
One fan responded to the post by noting, “And yet the sun came up this morning. This is not earth shattering your apology shows class.”
Another wrote “Did u not know she passed or did u have a slip up under live coverage pressure? I’m just curious bc u work in fashion.”
A third commented “You really need a new job. No one is going to take you seriously anymore, you know that right? You work/worked in fashion and didn’t know Kate Spade had passed??? Disgusting.”
Spade died by suicide at the age of 55 in June 2018. As noted by the Vigilant Citizen, “she was the third major fashion designer to die by asphyxiation since 2010, and the circumstances around her death are eerily similar to those of Alexander McQueen and L’Wren Scott. Also, all three were close to the occult elite.” Read more about it here.
