Waka Flocka Flame Acts Up in Psychological Thriller ‘Mollywood’ Now Playing On Demand (EUR EXCLUSIVE!)

*Get set to check for Waka Flocka Flame in his first scripted movie role in “Mollywood” today,  Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The psychological thriller, about a serial killer disguised as a drug dealer delivering the goods to millennials, will be available for download and On Demand. Go here, for more information on how you can see the film.

The EUR caught up with Waka, who plays Bijou, one of the young people who comes across the serial killer, and he said of his character, “I gave it a lot and I want (the viewers) to pay attention to the action because there’s a lot of it.”

Waka continued in his phone interview, “There’s definitely a message in it and people need to pay attention to it. People are going to enjoy the movie, trust me.”

The rap star, who shot to fame beginning with mixtapes and his debut album “Flockaveli” in 2010, has also made a name for himself as a reality television star. Most recently Waka and his wife Tammy Rivera Malphurs could be seen in “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars” and they appeared together on “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” (2014-2017). While Waka loves the reality game, he is really getting a hang of his new acting role.

“The difference with this (scripted role) is I could be serious and unscripted is more personal,” said Waka, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs. “I’m going to take this acting s*** over. I hope people see me in a different light. I want to add it to the long list of things I’ve done.”

“Mollywood” is directed by longtime music video director Morocco Vaughn (see more on Vaughn in this recent EUR article), with this project as his film debut. Vaughn has worked with Kanye West, P.Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and Rick Ross, just to name a few. Vaughn and Waka go way back.

“Me and him are longtime friends,” said Waka. “He was one of the first directors who ever shot a music video for me and took my career to another level as an artist.”

Waka added about Vaughn, “I just didn’t know he could make me act like that. I don’t want to say he made it easy for me, but he made me feel comfortable. I was just really focused and dived into the character. I didn’t want anything to block me. I didn’t really call nobody I knew because I shot it in Chicago, and I know a hell of a lot of people there.”

While Waka has been working on his acting career, he also has been tending to his personal needs. He and Tammy, whose relationship has been rocked by cheating scandals, renewed their wedding vows earlier this year in January. While they have been married since 2014, they never had a formal ceremony.

“I think me and her are starting a new beginning,” Waka told the EUR. “It’s been five years running. You gotta work at it.”

The EUR also asked Waka about a shooting incident in April. According to reports, Waka and several others were in an Atlanta recording studio when shots rang out. Apparently, one victim was shot in the arm. Waka would only say of the event, “That whole story was nothing. Headlines sell.”

As for “Mollywood,” do not forget that it will be available for download and On Demand starting, Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Waka Flocka Flame is also on the soundtrack. Go here, for more information on how you can see the film.
